About Me

I currently hold an appointment as Lecturer on Computer Science at Harvard College for the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. I received my A.B., S.M., and Ph.D. in Computer Science from the same in 1999, 2004, and 2007, respectively. I teach the College's introductory computer science course, Computer Science 50, otherwise known as CS 50.

I also serve as Chief Information Officer for Mindset Media and teach at Harvard Extension School and Harvard Summer School.

For consulting arrangements, please contact me.

Four of my courses are available as podcasts.

My research in graduate school focused primarily on cybersecurity and computer forensics.

While in graduate school, I founded two startups: Crimson Tutors and Diskaster. I worked part-time for the Middlesex District Attorney's Office as a forensic investigator. And, on the side, I volunteered as an EMT-B for MIT-EMS. I continue to volunteer as an EMT-B for the American Red Cross.
