Documentary Description

In advance of the Ronald Reagan Centennial in 2011, GE engaged VSA Partners to create a short documentary portraying Reagan's rise from GE brand ambassador to the 40th President of the United States. The lessons Reagan learned from GE factory workers had a profound impact on his ideology, culminating in a 1964 speech that catapulted him to the national political stage.

The film combines rare archival images with personal recollections of those who worked alongside President Reagan, from advisors Edwin Meese and Ken Khachigian to Tom Brokaw of NBC News. MSNBC's Joe Scarborough provides the narration. The short film will be used to introduce a number of Reagan Centennial celebrations, as well as broadcast online by GE.
