Documentary Description

Norma Percy's acclaimed series tells the inside story of the conflict in the Middle East and the efforts to bring peace to the region. The Fifty Years War comes from Brian Lapping Productions, makers of such series as Endgame in Ireland and The Death of Yugoslavia. The series producer is the redoubtable Norma Percy.

This is the only full-scale account of the relationship between Israelis and Arabs from the period beginning with the creation of the state of Israel in 1948 to the present.

It tells the story of repeated superpower involvement in the area, followed by uprising on the part of the Palestinian people. It is essential viewing at present, offering as it does a context within which it becomes possible to make sense of the tormented events occurring in the West Bank and Israel itself.
