Research Society of International Law, Pakistan (RSIL Pakistan)
Founded in 1993 by Mr. Ahmer Bilal Soofi, Advocate of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, the Research Society of International Law is a research and policy institution whose mission is to conduct research on the intersection between international law and the Pakistani legal context. The Society is a nonpartisan and apolitical organization, dedicated to examining a range of critical issues of law – international as well as domestic – with the intention of informing discourse on issues of national importance and effecting positive change in the domestic legal space.
The Society also conducts independent research on issues of contemporary relevance through both its general research staff as well as the Conflict Law Centre, a specially designated research unit focusing on the application of International Humanitarian Law (the Law of Armed Conflict) to the Pakistani context.
