This is video three of the Lead Guitar Quick-Start Series. In this lesson we will cover the Major Scale, which is the foundation for other scales we will be learning later in this series. The major scale is a seven note scale, and the major scale shape covered in this lesson is played over two octaves.

First you’ll learn how to play a basic major scale shape and then you'll have a chance to use it over a simple jam-track. It's important to memorize where the root notes are, so you can emphasize them in your playing.

Welcome to the fourth video of the Lead Guitar Quick-Start Series. In this lesson you will learn how to play the Major Pentatonic Guitar Scale. It's based on the Major Scale that we covered in the last lesson, but instead of using seven notes this scale shape uses five notes for each octave.

You'll start by learning the basic shape of this scale and then you'll be given a chance to apply it over a simple jam-track. As with the Major Scale, you will want to memorize where the root notes of the scale are, so you can emphasize them.

Welcome to video eleven in the Lead Guitar Quick-Start Series. In this lesson you will learn a few new shapes for the Major Pentatonic Scale. You can think of this video as a chance to earn some "extra credit" after completing the other lessons in this series, because these shapes aren't critical to learn right away.

In fact, it's far more valuable that you learn just one Major Pentatonic Scale shape and develop the ability to use it well than it is to learn all these extra shapes. With that in mind, I encourage you to only explore these shapes after you are already confident with the basic shape covered earlier in this series.
