Transcript: YVETTE PARRISH: "Hi! I am Yvette Parrish. Thanks for joining me at Expert Village. Today I am going to show you how to apply the eyeliner, the different styles of eyeliner, and how to get that pretty smoky look. There are basically three types of eyeliner you can use. You can use a cake eyeliner, which is in a powder form. The cake eyeliner, you will have to wet your brush and apply it with a brush, and you put it on the top line. That is a cake eyeliner. Old faithful, which everybody’s seen, which is the pencil; you can use it. I do not like to sharpen it super, super, super sharp, because it kind of hurts when you put it on, and the line is too skinny. So make sure when you have your pencil, keep it a little bit nubby, I think it works a little bit better. There are also liquid liners. They come water-resistant, every color, every brush imaginable, some are long wearing. Any time you use a liquid liner, it is going to look shiny, and it is going to be a little bit more of a dramatic look. You can get a pretty swoop that way, and with the brush, the way it is very flexible, you can get like a Cleopatra swoosh at the end, which is very dramatic. It is wonderful for the evening; but I would save this for the evening time and use the pencil or the cake during the day.
