Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS)

The Lahore University of Management Sciences (or LUMS), is an independent research university located in Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan. It was founded in 1984 by the patronage of the business–industrial community.

The university has a student body of about 3,500 graduate and undergraduate students, a faculty of 200, most of them with PhDs from foreign institutions. Its campus spreads over a 100 acres where more than half its student population and more than half its faculty lives.

The university is a member of Association of Commonwealth Universities. LUMS is ranked second in Pakistan in the QS University Rankings for the year 2014, 161st in Asia and among top 700 in the world. LUMS is one of Pakistan's most expensive and selective universities. All students are required to give SAT for undergraduate and GRE or GMATs for graduate admission.
