Lecture Description

In this video lesson, Makeup Artist Matt Cail teaches how to apply Makeup to the ears.

Video Transcripts: MATT CAIL: "The final step in creating our joker is doing the ears. See how the makeup extends here now down to the neck but the ears are still very fleshy and very, shall we say, non-supervillan looking. So let's extend the makeup onto the ears. Again, similar to how we've done before as if almost somebody quickly scrubbed up over the ears. Not a lot of time. Quickly working through some of the grooves maybe to get a little more white down into the nooks and crannies. Also be careful of your hair. Sometimes it helps to wet down your hair to get it away from the ears so that you don't get too much makeup. In terms of a joker look though that's okay because again the jokers not really going to care. He just wants to get dressed up and run off to the next big scene of the crime. So the other thing to keep in mind is don't try to work too deep into the ocular cavity, excuse me not the ocular cavity, the ear cavity because you don't want to get a lot of this makeup deep into your ear canal. You know you may risk, increase the risk, of infection. A lot of makeup is not too dangerous, but it's just generally something you don't want to have too deep in the recesses of your body. So try and keep it on the outside of the ear. Blotch it up. You can still have some skin showing through and then you have finished your joker ear. Repeat the same steps on the other ear. And here is your finished product. Crazy joker makeup just in time for the new Batman movie."
