Lecture Description

In this video, we're going to combine several of the skills we learned earlier in the class.

We're going to use the EmbedPress plugin at wordpress.org/plugins/embedpress/ to add a Google Map to our town site.

Here is a list of the embeds that WordPress supports: codex.wordpress.org/Embeds. Unfortunately, Google Maps is not among that list. However, if WordPress doesn't do something out-of-the-box, there's always a plugin to help you.

Using the EmbedPress plugin, you can embed Google Maps using just a URL. Go to "Plugins", then "Add New" and you can install EmbedPress.

With EmbedPress installed, you can take a Google Map URL and add it directly to any WordPress post.

Congratulations. You've just added your first, working WordPress plugin!
