Not yet rated
Two F-35B Lightning II aircraft (BF-2 and BF-4) operate from the USS Wasp (LHD-1) off the coast of Virginia during initial sea trials. The F-35B was designed to perform Short Take-Off and Vertical Landing (STOVL) operations on STOVL capable ships and austere airfields. For the U.S. Marine Corps, the F-35B will provide air power in support of the Marine Air Ground Task Force. The F-35B is undergoing shipboard testing to assess environmental factors, aircraft handling at sea, and ship suitability for F-35B operations. (video courtesy of Lockheed Martin)
