Prof. David Gross shared the 2004 Nobel Prize in Physics with H. David Politzer and Frank Wilczek "for the discovery of asymptotic freedom in the theory of the strong interaction." He is the director and holder of the Frederick W. Gluck Chair in Theoretical Physics at the Kavli Institute for Theoretical Physics and a professor of physics in the Department of Physics at University of California, Santa Barbara, U.S.A.
