The Battle for Okinawa [AX2501]
FACTUAL FACTORY is a whole new way of looking at stock footage. World War Two, World War 2, WW2, WW 2, WW II, WW II, World War II - Okinawa- fighter planes leave air craft carriers and make a formation in the sky- cuts to a map of Okinawa and explains the attack. Higgins boats line up along the shore- soldiers unload and make their way further onto land. Right away, the marines are met with challenges. Finding the enemy proves to be difficult due to all the lush vegetation and the heavy rains make it close to impossible for the marines to advance. They perservere and move into the northern tip of Okinawa. Here they find Japanese suicide boats. These are small boats with explosive charges in their bows meant for ramming. Final assualt plans are made and before they are executed, they are meticulously reviewed and explained. The battle starts and victory is ours but it is costly- footage shows dead bodies of U.S and Japanese soldiers. Cuts back to the map and the voice over explains the progress that was made. The take over of Okinawa was one of the bloodiest battles fought for the mastery of the Pacific.

It was a very sad thing and if the Japanes wouldnt have been
so stupid they may have stood a chance but they werent smart
adn we beat them.
