Titan: A Place Like Home?

Fascinating Documentary on the space programme designed to discover more about Saturn's most Earth-like Moon, Titan.

A missing data stream and bad weather could lead to mission disaster - will they be able to receive any data from the probe? Seven years in the making, the probe that will travel to Titan has undergone many tests. To get enough speed to reach Titan, Cassini would have to use otherĀ  planets as sling-shots to propel her out into the far reaches of our solar system. Scientists explain how this is done . Titan's landscape and surface similarities with Earth could shed valuable light on what sparked the life explosion on Earth, and how possible it might be for life to exist on other planets. Following on from the first pictures ever received of Saturn's moons, a probe is sent out to Titan to get a better picture. Scientists have always been fascinated by Titan's orange sky. Hear one scientist discussing his opinions on the moon's possible atmosphere and landscape.
